Elizabeth More was born on May 19th 1505 to Sir Thomas More and his wife Joan Colt. She is More's second eldest daughter.
When Elizabeth was six her mother Joan died giving birth to her brother John. Of her siblings Elizabeth is closest to him. Her father soon after married Alice Middleton, a rich widow. Alice and Elizabeth had a bitter relationship mainly because of their distinct personalities. Alice was very strict and Elizabeth was a troublemaker.
It was often Elizabeth's troublemaking antics, love for men and tomboy attitude that worried her father ever so often.
In September of 1528 Elizabeth married William Daunce. Their marriage was a match made in heaven at first. But after Elizabeth gave birth to their daughter Jane in 1529, their marriage fractured. William was an unfaithful husband leaving their marriage a bitter one untill William died in 1532 from Consumption.
As a single mother Elizabeth had no choice but to come to court to be Anne Boleyn's Lady in Waiting. As exciting as it was for her sice it was her dream to come to court, her father was left worried due to Elizabeth's track record with bad behavior and men. And the Man of all Seasons has every right to be...
