*Admins, feel free to edit this topic to make your own contributions.
*Members, post your suggestions below and they will shortly be added.
1. Because of the nature of this site, and the basis for it, i would strongly recommend that any and all discussions concerning politics and religion be confined to roleplaying explicitly. Discriminatory or prejudiced comments in the out of character section or the chatbox will NOT be tolerated, nor should such areas be used to settle disputes either. Use messengers or personal messages if you feel the need to quarrel.
2. No foul or abusive language unless its between heated character interactions, we all know that realistically no one has an argument without swearing, but know your limits, and don't go overboard. Ensure it remains in character, and that it doesn't become something personal.
3. Don't double post, if someone takes a while to respond to your threads, don't keep posting in the hopes they'll notice, chances are they have a pretty good reason for not answering, in which case discuss this issue via personal message. However, do not pester fellow members to thread with you, ask politely. Also, don't interrupt other people's conversation with other topics. If you aren't going to have the thread with them, then find someone else to thread with, elsewhere, but don't interrupt others' threads with other stories.
4. No killing of characters unless the occasion calls for it, or unless you receive the 'OK' from an administrator.
5. Original storylines and original characters are more than welcome, to add to that so are alternate universe plots, however in regards to AU material, i will ask members who are intending to take this up to also receive permission from an admin to do so. Also, if this route is indeed going to be taken, make it believable. It will be accepted in small doses, and should not extend to, or compromise other character's plots or major events in history.
6. If you receive abusive messages, or anything that can be categorized as bullying, either here or elsewhere in relation to this forum or its members, get in contact with an admin immediately.
7. Remember, this is a game, and shouldn't be taken seriously. Rival factions such as the Boleyns and the Seymours can hate each other as long as they're in character, but do try and be friends in reality.
8. Do not cut across threads between two characters unless receiving express permission to do so. If you want a tip, check the date at the beginning of the thread you're going to bump. If it hasn't received a response within three days, feel free to start roleplaying.
9. Activity is essential where canon characters are concerned, for those of you who are playing integral characters at a particular time, don't neglect them. Of course, roleplaying is a desire, and not an obligation. Trust me, its not nice to force someone to play a character they don't feel in a particular mood to play, so try and understand where they're coming from. There's no reason we can't postpone such things until such a time when they're ready.
10. I would ask that, in posting, players try and exceed three lines in their responses, so the person they're roleplaying with has something to respond to. If you can't think of anything to say, talk about the environment or something like that, anything really.
11. Advertising on this site should be restricted to the named board only, no posting of advertisements in the cbox because it looks plain messy. Members are more than welcome to advertise on other sites, and i would ask that those 'first timers' choosing to advertise on this site ensure they have a board we can link back to.
12. No godmodding; please don't control another characters actions, or put words in their mouth, so to speak, without their express permission.
13. Members unknown to the staff will be required to provide a sample of their writing skills if deciding to play integral characters such as Henry's six wives, his daughters and son, and the vital members of his council (Please fill out this application form: tudorssaga.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rules&action=display&thread=36 )
14. If you take an character and choose a playby you can change it just with very good reasons or if that character is a child.
Breaking any of these rules will mean a warning. Three warnings means a ban from this forum. [/b]
